What people say about our event

Below is a selection of comments received from just a few of the many people who have taken part in the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge
Hi Rob

Just wanted to thank you and all your team for a fantastic weekend. I'm aching now, but it was well worth it!

The route is fantastic - the highlight (although it's tough to pick just one) was probably the glorious road over the tops before the descent into North Newbald. I've cycled in the Wolds before but had never seen most of the scenery before the weekend and I was amazed by it.

It's such a well-organised event, and crucially, the focus is on enjoying yourself! I've found similar events to be overly competitive, whereas the ability during this event to relax, enjoy some cake, a beer and take the scenery in made such a refreshing change.

Mike - thank you for allowing us to put the tent up on Friday, saving us quite a bit of time on the Saturday!

Looking forward to next year already!

Thanks again

My friend and I just got home from the event and just wanted to say what an absolutely fantastic weekend we had from start to finish. The event was brilliant, really well organised, good facilities and food and what a stunning route. Well done and thanks to you and to everyone else involved from the lovely ladies clearing tables and collecting rubbish and serving cakes and to all of the Marshall's who were all very friendly. I've done lots of cycle events but this was by far my favourite and cant wait to book us on for next year. A really friendly and enjoyable experience.Thank you for all your efforts and it was nice to meet you. Well done - fantastic! Absolutely buzzing!
I have WONDERFUL memories of last weekend... worth all the training at dawn!! ... and amazingly, I am none the worse for the experience ... no post-Cycle aches or twinges at all!!! We were looked after meticulously in so many ways by your brilliant team! ...and I was deeply impressed by the calmness, encouragement and good humour that prevailed throughout the whole event! ...though we are all aware of the months of hard work which inevitably will have preceded the event. Personally, I will NEVER forget the final exhilarating sweep down the last hill from Settrington to Norton... Apparently, I clocked 32mph!! Unforgettable!!! You learn a lot about yourself on these challenges and have to dig deep, at times, to stay on track! The Wolds are STUNNING, and it was great to be amongst so many wonderful people. A great personal challenge and a well deserving charity!
The Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Challenge is one of the most enjoyable cycling events I’ve ever done.
140ish miles over two days through the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds, with an overnight camp (luggage transport provided). The circular route passes through the scenic Yorkshire Wolds countryside and is challenging but not Pennine Hills challenging. Just enough ups to make it interesting and just enough downs to make it enjoyable.
Overnight camp is on a flat football field with secure (outside) bike storage. Free evening meal, bar (not free) and a band.
Entries are limited to around 300 people, never enough for the excessive pelotons of some events, but enough to not be alone. The limited numbers of like minded people mean that it’s possible to recognise faces and develop ‘on the road’ friendships and socialise at the bar and stops.
I can thoroughly recommend it for a club ride/social weekend
Absolutely BRILLIANT!! ...including all the fun at the campsite! Lovely hot showers to ease those aching bits, cool 🍻 beers, AMAZING supper and breakfast and all in a chilled, friendly atmosphere with a real spirit of camaraderie... SO MUCH organising but never felt a moment’s hassle ... nothing short of a miracle!! Hats off to you all!
Thank you Organisers, Marshals, Caterers, Ride Angels, Bike Repairs, Security, Guardian Angels and everyone who helped .
Never ridden that far before
A great experience and well worth the journey and the cycle home. Thanks for a well organised event, and for the great welcome and friendship we experienced during the event.
Just to say a huge thank you to all involved in the 2019 cycle challenge. We appreciate the amount of time, effort and commitment that goes into organising such an event, no small undertaking, and once again, we had a very memorable weekend.
We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the cycle challenge. We would like to pass on our thanks to you and to all the volunteers/helpers who made it such a great event. The feed stations were great and so was the food at the camp and if that was the first time they had catered for you then hats off to them, it was good. Thanks for the tent, I wasn't looking forward to putting ours up!!

We are trying to get a team of us together for next year, so if you could put us on the email contact list that would be great. Also if there is any chance we could get cycling shirts just let us know.
Thanks for a great ride. Our first time at this event, and Kate’s first time at any bike event.
We really enjoyed it. Could not fault any of it with the possible exception of some of the hills!!
What a wonderful two days spent in “Gods Country “. The event appeared on my Facebook page in the depths of winter,I knew nothing about it, but I thought I’d take a chance ! It was fantastic, well organised, good people, great cause.
Many thanks
What an amazing weekend I’ve just had! Thank you and please pass on my thanks to all the volunteers who made it such a wonderful event. Had time to chat to a volunteer who told me what she did with the charity and the kind of things the money we raise is used for. Inspired me up the next hill!! Looking forward to (special) next year!!
